The studio

Four decades of landscape experience,
carried forward by a new generation.

Juan José Cordero and Fadrique Cordero — the family behind PLANTAE.

The practice began in 1985 with Juan José Cordero, a Costa Rican pioneer landscaper whose knowledge was formed through decades of direct work with tropical plants, gardens and the land.

Today, his son Fadrique has joined the family business to relaunch PLANTAE and strengthen the structure behind the work. Juan José leads the botanical vision and technical direction of each landscape, while Fadrique oversees project development, client relationships, operations and administration.

We remain a family-run studio by conviction. Each project is approached with close attention to climate, architecture, use, maintenance and the way a garden will mature over time. Our purpose is not simply to install plants, but to create landscapes that feel grounded, coherent and inseparable from their place.
